Undying

Here’s to the glory of dying and the pain of remembrance

Louvre, Abu Dhabi

Death passes by to bring me back to life, to suffer all over again
I’ve lived long and insufferable lives and faced every consequence

Everyone leaves as time passes by but at least death is still by my side
No memory can hold itself against me
No pain is ever felt still

One midnight in the dark alley on the side
when the moon is full, standing alone between us,
you’ll draw your gun to shoot as you like
thinking you’ve brought me to my demise
yet blood will travel through my dress and seep into my next life

Love, Alyazya

  1. For those of us who have faced our mortality:

    Job 38

“Have you journeyed to the springs of the sea
or walked in the recesses of the deep?
    17
Have the gates of death been shown to you?
Have you seen the gates of the deepest darkness?
    18
Have you comprehended the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know all this.

The older I get. The more I have to leave behind.

  2. The following line of yours spoke to me:

Death passes by to bring me back to life, to suffer all over again

Even though you’re talking about re-incarnation, I think of people who want release from this life, yet death passes them by, and they are returned to the pain.

    Thanks for your thoughtful words.

    1. Thanks for sharing ^^ It’s not completley about re-incarnation. It’s about one’s inability to outrun living as well as the loneliness of living a life where you are killed over and over again. It’s also about the fearlessness that person would have towards death itself because he/she felt as though they’ve died so many times in one lifetime. But it can swing both ways ^^
